Balfour After School Club & Holiday Activity Camp

Balfour Road, Brighton, England, BN1 6NE.

We operate high quality, fun-filled After School Club and Holiday Camps at the school.

After School Club are available for pupils attending Balfour Primary School only.

Balfour Holiday Camps run in every school holiday, except for the Christmas Holidays. Any primary school aged children are welcome to attend.

Children benefit from a safe and familiar school setting, helping them settle quickly into their surroundings and chosen activity.

We are based in the Junior Canteen Hall, which allows us to lead large or smaller group sessions, whatever the weather.

We set up a dining area in the hall, enabling the children to all eat together sociably.

The children enjoy the fantastic outdoor playground area directly outside, where we’re able to operate our supervised games and activities, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and fun!

After School Club Benefits
We offer fun, happy, safe places for children to play together after a busy school day. Our experienced, friendly staff led the sessions, provide an energising, enjoyable extension to the school day, which encompasses the Pioneer Values and characters. They’ll have fun getting to know, Spike, Matilda, Henry, and the gang with lots of fun and engaging activities. The children can choose from fun games, planned activities, sports and free play sessions throughout the afternoon.

All children have a freshly prepared High Tea together – a real social highlight of every afternoon.

Activity Camps

Holiday Camp Benefits
Every holiday camp offers a daily mix of Sports, Group Challenges, Arts and Performance activities. Children are encouraged to take part in all activities at a level they are comfortable with.
Each holiday follows a popular children’s theme, giving the organised activities a focus and ensuring every day is different!

Click here to see our upcoming Holiday Camp Activity Calendar.

Weather and season dependent, we’ll be outdoors as much as possible. Please bring appropriate cold and wet weather clothing, and in warmer weather please remember to put suncream and a hat on before dropping your child/ren.

They’ll need to bring a refillable water bottle, two snacks and packed lunch.
NB: No nuts or sesame seed allowed.

Meet The Balfour Club Manager

Lauren

Head of Education & Welfare

I absolutely love spending time with children in such an enjoyable and safe environment like Pioneer.

Having worked as a teacher for two years, I am delighted to still work with children in a school environment! More specifically, I love that I get to focus on children’s happiness and well-being, rather than being overwhelmed with targets and data.

After working as an Activity Leader at Pioneer, I am relishing the challenge of managing a staff team and working with them to develop their skills. However, I still like to put on my ‘Activity Leader’ hat and I love to get stuck into activities and having fun with the children.

I am dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and fun environment for the children at Balfour, and I hope they will enjoy Pioneer Club as much as I do!

If you would like to discuss anything club-related, please call 07795265496 during club opening hours and I will be happy to talk to you.

“Experienced leaders are passionate about providing high-quality care for children. They work closely with school teachers and parents to help ensure that children's needs are well known. Staff work well together to ensure children feel safe and settled when attending the club. This contributes to children feeling secure and supports their emotional well-being."

Maura Pigram, Inspector
Lindfield, July 2022

"Children enjoy a variety of fun activities to support their learning when they are at school. Staff ensure that these are linked to children's interests and help children to persevere with tasks. This helps to support their concentration skills."
